Today's Ice Derby

Well McKellar Ice Fishing Derby went today so 4 friends and I went for a go..with one of my sons to of course..As it goes three categories whitefish/ciscoe..perch/crappie...Pike.and $5001st  $1002nd and 50 for third in each cat..and 30 buck entry fee with dinner included)why not?..so you can guess which I went for being the pike fanatic..so I say the spot I picked turned into a day all of us will never forget..as we went to my pike spot no crappie there but the chance at some nice perch but its a pike honey hole..so..we did hit some small perch but no placers in that category but Pike We place 1st 2nd and 3rd in the Pike and my son Isaiah wins in the kids category winning himself a sweet Daiwa rod and reel combo and a higher end model to boot...I want that rod for myself and his name and win printed in the local paper...now he is asking when we can go to next tourny...got him hooked..lol..and as it goes My buddy Ryan(right) wins by a half lb(mine was longer but his way fatter,turns out mine was a male his female).. I get 2nd and my bud Kyle get 3rd..not bad for a 150 competitors.I feel that today was a special one and very happy and proud of my boy!!I even got his winning catch on video..... here's a couple pics
