Went for some Crappie again, and great eating fish too right up there with walleye and perch..personally even better taste very light and soft umm umm umm..So we get out about noon as thats when the wife got back with the truck so off with the trailer sled and gear ..and its starts funny nothing for the 1st bit so drill around and get some hits both Largemouth Bass and back they go..next my buddy hits and it breaks his line...Pike I say...so I pull a Crappie line set up a pike line and bang ..back to back 2 small pike around a 1lber and a 3lber but was fun..so I figured move off about 10 yards and ...Crappie got 6 and 5 of them where btween 12 and 14"er and a 10"er my buddy hits a couple two and day ends .and was good ..They werent hitting lite either..They were a little shallower then we usually found them around 16 to 18ft oppsed to the usual 20 or deeper...
heres a pic of the bigger one...and a couple others b4 that big one..

Well did the trek in for eyes..and lack of snow made for some rougher trails this yr...but it was worth the trip...It was a cold morning at  -15 cel but got sunny and warmed to a nice 0 degress with a little wind here and there..so our 1st spot in 22ft of water and a hump or sandbar, did well in the morning there.. So as the sun brightened the eyes slowed down.so we hit another spot which was around 19 to 25ft in front of current area and ice got thin there and hit nadda..so we go to the next spot where the treeline shadows part of the lake and deeper rocky shoreline, fished from 30 to 35ft..and voila the spot to be..we slammed some nice eyes and so many little ones it wasnt funny(minnows aren't cheap)but it kept the action alive untill a big ones came,we lost a few monsters but it was a good day and as the sun brightened we found them closer to the 32 to 35 ft range we used jigs/minnows and tipups..Good day....
